Impact on Social Skills AND BehaviourWhen sensory processing is disordered, it is difficult to understand situations and respond to information in the environment. This has the potential to profoundly affect a student’s ability to access learning in the classroom. If it appears that a student is experiencing sensory processing difficulties, you may consider discussing with the student’s parent referral for assessment by an occupational therapist. As well as assessing the student, the occupational therapist is likely to suggest strategies for assisting the student at school.
